Coast to Coast Toast 2

Vanberg & DeWulf’s Coast to Coast Toast Comes to New York City Tuesday, January 15th, 2013.  Better Late Than Never!

On Tuesday, January 15, 2013, the best specialty beer-centric bars, restaurants, and stores in NYC will be raising a glass to celebrate Vanberg & DeWulf’s birthday and the great state of craft and specialty beer culture in the US of A. On this day the most progressive, idiosyncratic, and wonderful retailers and publicans across metro NY join hands, and we salute them (i.e. you!). Elsewhere in the nation – as well as in Italy, France, Iceland, the UK and Belgium – some 500 hosts held their party on November 15th, 2012. Because of the ravages of Hurricane Sandy, the metro NYC parties were postponed in order to give our estimable hosts and distributor, Union Beer, a chance to regroup.

The  Coast to Coast Toast is the single largest one-day celebration of Belgian beer culture in the United States in this millennium. Surely, you want to be in on that! Here’s an example of the kind of press the event generates.

We thought you, as New Yorkers, would like to know that we dedicated this year’s Coast to Coast Toast to friends in the path of the storm.  Many of the hosts around the country generous set aside proceeds from the party for disaster relief.  We salute their kindness.  Vanberg & DeWulf made a corporate donation in honor of all the hosts and our distributors to Team Rubicon. Team Rubicon ”unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with medical professionals to rapidly deploy emergency response teams into crisis situations.”  Learn more and donate on teamrubiconusa.org. They did an amazing job in The Rockaways. The New York iteration of the Coast to Coast Toast will be a subject of discussion on  Beer Sessions Radio on Tuesday, January 15, at 5:15 EST.  Check out their site and susbcribe to their feed to increase your beer prowess.

In addition to the Belgian collection, feel free to to include our “Honorary Belgians” in your party: Lava, a smoked Imperial Stout from Iceland, was just named one of the 25 Best New Beers (of 7000 introduced in 2012) by Draft Magazine; Contessa, an Italian Pale Ale, rates 5 stars from Slow Food Italy, Castelain’s super range of biere de gardes are the subject of a story in the current issue of All About Beer. Happy holidays!
